Art & Drama Curriculum
Pre-K - 8th Grade
Art & Drama: The Art and Drama curriculum at St. Ann Catholic School is a unique and creative blend of both visual and performing arts. This allows for the students to learn how to effectively communicate with others and express themselves though the arts.
In Visual Art, students are exposed to Studio Art, Art History, Art Criticism, and Art Aesthetics. Students create art using the Elements and Principals of Design and a variety of mediums including: pencil and ink drawing, watercolor and acrylic painting, paper collage, clay, sculpture, printmaking, and collage. The students’ artwork is entered in a number of local and national contests, displayed in our school, used for Drama productions, and showcased in an annual Art Show.
In Drama, St. Ann Catholic School students are instructed in the art of musical theater. Students learn to work together, rehearse, and create live stage performances. This confidence building subject teaches students acting skills, technical theater skills, choreography, singing, memorization, and respect. St. Ann Catholic Students participate in a variety of annual Drama performances including: a Christmas Musical, the Talent Show, and a Broadway style Spring Musical.
